It was more of the same as Jeff Horner returned to the lineup against St. Louis. The offense wasn’t great, the defense was. The Hawks managed to shoot 42.9%, though they were 52% from the 3-point line. The Hawks held the Bilikens to 36% shooting, which is about the usual for the Hawks.
Horner scored 17 points and 6 assists in his return. Haluska also scored 17 points. Brunner was cold, getting only 6 points.
Next up, the Big 10.

The Des Moines Register is reporting that Jeff Horner will return to the lineup for the game against St. Louis Friday night. Horner has missed four games with a partial tear of his posterior cruciate ligament. The Hawks have struggled offensively without Horner, so I’m hoping his return will spark the offense in St. Louis.
The Hawkeyes are earning a reputation as a great defensive team this season, and the game against Robert Morris will add to that. The Hawkeyes held the Colonials to 30% shooting from the floor and held their opponent to under 60 points for the 8th time this season. The Hawkeye’s offense showed a little life, shooting 45% from the floor as well as 43% from behind the arc. Haluska led with 18 points and Brunner with 10 rebounds.
The Hawks opponents have averaged only 36.3% shooting percentage, which is good enough for 11th in the nation. This will come in handy when they get into Big 10 play.
