Wow! What an ending! The Hawks started off strong by scoring on their first possession. For the rest of the first half the offense looked ragged. The defense looked spectacular and managed rattle LSU’s quarterback. In the second half Drew Tate was on fire. The Hawk got the lead up to 24-12. Then LSU’s offense woke up in the 4th quarter and managed to take the lead with less than a minute left in the game. It looked like the Hawks weren’t going to make it as they didn’t manage the clock very well with so little time. It didn’t matter as Tate hit Warren Holloway for a TD as time ran out. Sweet!
That makes it 3 years in a row with 10 wins or more, for the first time ever in the history of the school. Even though they are losing some great players, I think the Hawkeyes will be even better next season. The offensive line will be even better, they will have a running attack again, and Tate will be a year older and better. The defense will probably be a little worse after losing so many players. I think the offense won’t need the defense to be as good as this year, so it shouldn’t matter.

I’ll have to start paying more attention to the basketball team. They are actually worth watching this year.
